Another local Gin School collaboration: meet Dragon's Keeper

We're thrilled to welcome another distinguished collaboration at the Gin School.

Since its inception in 2018, the Gin School has partnered with skilled local distillers to bring the best craft gins to the connoisseurs of Joburg.

From October to December 2023, we'll have the majestic, Dragon's Keeper Handcrafted Gin in our sensorium for tantalising tastings and fun food pairings.

There are a few beverages as fascinating as gin. Its history is riddled with talks of alchemy and mystery, and one particular brand that adds its unique twist to the story is Dragon's Keeper Gin. This spirit takes gin enthusiasts on a journey filled with botanicals, legends, and unparalleled flavour.

Dragon's Keeper Gin is a relatively new player in the world of distilled spirits, but it carries a story steeped in lore and magic. The name itself conjures images of knights and wizards, embarking on grand quests to protect the world from fire-breathing dragons. But what sets this gin apart from the rest is its commitment to tradition, innovation, and exceptional quality.

The creators of Dragon's Keeper Gin take immense pride in their artisanal approach to crafting this exceptional spirit. The heart and soul of any gin lie in its botanicals, and Dragon's Keeper doesn't disappoint. A secret blend of botanicals is carefully selected to achieve the perfect balance between juniper, citrus, and spices. The precise combination of ingredients is a closely guarded secret, known only to a select few.

One of the key ingredients in Dragon's Keeper is Buchu. Known as South Africa's 'miracle herb', Buchu has been used by the indigenous Khoisan for centuries as a medicinal elixir. High in antioxidants, bioflavonoids, and rich in Vitamins A, B, and E, its flavour is derived from the Buchu leaves, which can be made into a tea or natural oil. Its strong minty aroma and fruity taste make it perfect for a gin of Dragon's Keeper quality.

Dragon's Keeper Gin is distilled in small batches, using traditional copper pot stills. This method allows for a greater level of control over the distillation process and ensures that only the purest and most flavourful components make their way into the final product. The result is a gin with a smooth, silky texture and a full-bodied flavour profile that sets it apart from mass-produced gins.

The true magic of Dragon's Keeper Gin is unveiled when you take that first sip. The gin offers a beautifully balanced medley of flavours, with juniper leading the way, followed by hints of citrus and spice. The fruitiness from the Buchu adds a layer of complexity that distinguishes Dragon's Keeper from other gins on the market. This gin is equally enjoyable sipped neat or used in cocktails, where it can add a touch of enchantment to your mixology.

Dragon's Keeper is more than 'just a spirit', it's an experience. From its intriguing name and legendary botanicals, to its artisanal craftsmanship and captivating taste, this gin is an embodiment of magic that surrounds the world of spirits. The quest for perfection and a deep appreciation for tradition can lead to the creation of something truly extraordinary.

So, if you're in search of a gin that will transport you to a world of legends and enchantment, be sure to taste Dragon's Keeper Gin! A toast to the keepers of the dragon's secret, for capturing the essence of adventure and the spirits they've unleashed upon the world! Book your gin tasting for R90 per person.
